Cos’è un carattere egiziano?
É un tipo di carattere il cui disegno è costituito da aste pesanti e da grazie squadrate e accentuate.
L’origine della denominazione è legata all’interesse per l’Egitto diffusosi in Europa dopo la campagna militare napoleonica.
Il termine è entrato a far parte della classificazione del carattere proposta da Aldo Novarese, autore anche del disegno di un carattere da lui denominato egizio nel 1953.
